I had reconnected with an old friend from San Francisco last week, he was one of my best buds before I moved to Seattle. We needed a bit of catching up and at the end of it all he mentioned he might have a few guy friends that would be interested. I took him up on it and thus became my very first blind date.
He described himself as a Tech Guy sooo we’re gonna go with that. TG picks me up in his sweet VW, I hop in the car and I am pleasantly suprised that he’s quite handsome. Really pretty features, he’s got these Tigers Eye plugs, nice button up, jeans, and DC shoes? He looks like a dudes dude, which is nice. We head to The Muffin Men comedy show at Sip Bar and Lounge in Chinatown. It’s a free event I found and it happens every Wednesday. They say laughter is the best medicine… and this is free… FREE DRUGS!
Wow these are some hilarious people. The host, Papp Johnson, was great and one woman, Irene Tu had me in fucking stitches. The crowd was pretty light and the two of us were sitting dead center. I made the super rookie mistake of falling for the bait of “Are you guys a couple?” “No, first date!” Never. Ever. Do. This. In all honesty we didn’t get it too bad but I could have done without some of the nipple tweaking comments, Papp. The show ends and since we didn’t do much chatting I take TG to my most favorite bar in the whole entire world, Cantina. It’s just a little walk away from where we’ve parked and the weather’s not so bad. We sit with our cocktails and talk a little bit about his sweet 3d printer he’s just acquired, Fabrication Design, and our mutual friend.
Back to the car. I ask TG if he’s got sports mode, he totally does. We do a little bit of driving and he tells me it’s fun to do on the Great Highway. I suggest we head down there because it’s still pretty early in the night. That was so much fun. We pull over and take a walk to the beach, I’m having a great time so I hook the crook of my dates arm. Except…His arm is away from his body and he holds it like I’ve got fucking leprosy. I thought we were having a great time but maybe I misread the situation? I’m not sure. I unhook my arm and we walk down to the water, it’s beautiful out. It’s basically pitch black but we can see the glowing spume of the waves coming to land. We talk about how it’s easy to forget we are surrounded by this beauty, it’s easy to get caught up.
He drops me off and… and that’s it.  33/100
